My name is Nathan Moore, and I am not a runner. In fact, I am not a jogger. In fact, I only walk when there's no other mode of transportation (just kidding). Seriously though, the very thought of running is not very pleasant. The furthest distance I've run without dying is 3.2 miles...so the thought of a 1/2 marathon is pretty painful to me, but not nearly as painful as what women and children experience every day in our country because of human sex trafficking. Human trafficking is very real and it is happening in every city/state throughout the nation.
This past summer, my family was privileged to have some young ladies join us on a camping trip. As we were driving to see a waterfall I was looking in the rearview mirror. In the third row I saw my 10 year old daughter. She was having a great time playing, singing and laughing with two other girls. To her right was one of her friends that she invited to join us, and next to them was a young lady that they just met on this trip. 3 girls having a good ole time and living an innocent existence. Well...not exactly. The third young girl was a young lady who was rescued from human trafficking. While all 3 of them looked the same, she unfortunately had lived a much different life that was not of her choosing. Thanks to Mollies House, she was rescued from that bondage and is now able to live the innocent life she was created to live.
On Nov. 6th I am participating in a 1/2 marathon to bring awareness to this unjust trade. There are two organizations who are on the front lines fighting hard for these women and children. Mollies House provides a safe home for girls under the age of 18 who have been rescued from this horrible life. The Covenant House (Breaking The Chains) provides a safe home for woman over the age of 18. I am asking you to come alongside me and extend your support to these two organizations by making a pledge for the 1/2 marathon. 100% of your tax deductible pledge will go directly to these two organizations. Can I count on you? Click on the organization picture to learn more about them...but only after you complete the form below to make your pledge. You will be contacted after November 6th to complete your pledge.
